On 4 December 2025, the Centro Studi Americani in Rome will host the presentation day of the Pilot Programme for the network of Digital Precision Medicine Centers, an initiative that marks a turning point in the Italian healthcare landscape.

The event, which will take place from 9:00 to 18:00 at Via Michelangelo Caetani 32, will bring together the leading figures of Italian and international biomedical research to discuss the future of personalised healthcare in our country.

An ecosystem that becomes reality
After three years of intensive work funded by the PNRR, HEAL Italia has built a national ecosystem comprising over 600 active researchers and clinicians across 21 regions, more than 250 ongoing studies, laboratories of excellence, major equipment and artificial intelligence platforms at the service of the scientific community and the Life Sciences industry.

On 4 December, the “Officina for Precision Medicine” brand will be officially launched: integrated physical and digital environments, designed to develop and implement healthcare programmes based on Precision, Predictive and Gender Medicine approaches, intended to become a permanent part of everyday clinical practice.

The day’s programme
The day will be structured around four thematic sessions:

First session (9:45 am) – Dedicated to HEAL Italia’s Core Facilities and the thematic data network for the fight against oncological diseases, with presentations on organoid models, modern pathology and anti-tumour vaccination strategies.

Second session (11:45 am) – Focus on new Precision Medicine and Diagnostics 4.0 protocols, with particular attention to integrated diagnostics, circadian biomarkers and digital medicine.

Third session (2:30 pm) – Presentation of the pilot centers that represent the access points to new care systems, from computational genomics for oncology to the biobank network, through to Gender Medicine for Southern Italy.

Fourth session (3:30 pm) – HEAL Italia International: a window onto the global landscape of Precision Medicine, with contributions from the United States, China and Germany, to discuss the attraction of foreign investment and opportunities for the Italian Life Sciences industry.

Institutions and research in dialogue
The event will see the participation of prominent institutional figures, including the Minister of Health Prof. Orazio Schillaci, the President of AIFA Prof. Robert Giovanni Nisticò, representatives of the Ministry of University and Research and the Ministry of Health, as well as Sen. Maria Domenica Castellone, Vice President of the Senate, and Sen. Beatrice Lorenzin for the closing remarks.

Scientific direction is entrusted to Prof. Mauro Piacentini, Scientific Director of Fondazione HEAL Italia, while organisational coordination is handled by Dr. Laura Leonardis, General Director of the Foundation.

Towards the healthcare of the future
The meeting of 4 December represents a crucial moment for defining post-PNRR strategies and ensuring continuity for a project that is concretely transforming the Italian healthcare system, making it more effective, sustainable and capable of responding to the challenges of an ageing population and the growing complexity of care needs.
