The Precision Medicine Center of Sardinia operates under agreement with CeSAR (Centro Servizi di Ateneo per la Ricerca) and is under the patronage of the University of Cagliari. Coordinated by Prof. Andrea Perra, scientific reference of the Programme, and directed by Prof.ssa Sabrina Giglio, it represents a strategic hub of the HEAL Italia network for the integration of research, clinical practice and innovation.

The Center focuses on hereditary and acquired genetic conditions and complex diseases with proliferative, degenerative and inflammatory bases, developing integrated services in advanced diagnostics and translational research.

The Sardinian HEAL Italia Precision Medicine Center has highly specialised expertise and cutting-edge technologies that enable the complete analysis of genomes, gene transcription and protein expression. Its distinctive feature is the ability to perform single-cell multi-omic analyses, providing an extremely detailed molecular characterisation of the pathological cellular component and its microenvironment.

This integrated approach accelerates the transition from scientific discovery to clinical applicability, enabling earlier identification of research findings that can genuinely impact patient care and prognosis.

The Center positions itself as the driver of a scalable and replicable model of Precision Medicine, oriented towards scientific and technological innovation, patient-centredness, responsiveness to the specific needs of local communities and the promotion of health.
