The HEAL ITALIA Precision Medicine Center in Ancona was established within the Department of Clinical and Molecular Sciences at the Università Politecnica delle Marche. Coordinated by Prof. Gianluca Moroncini, Full Professor of Internal Medicine and Head of the Department, the Center is dedicated to the development of Precision Medicine in the field of rare diseases, with the aim of improving preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic pathways through innovative research, training and clinical care.

The Center aims to build multidisciplinary expertise in Precision Medicine for each sub-specialty of Internal Medicine, implementing personalised diagnostic and therapeutic pathways for patients with rare diseases.

Thanks to its interdepartmental nature, the Center can interface with all 12 departments of the Università Politecnica delle Marche, including engineering, scientific and economics departments, ensuring an integrated approach that also takes into account the sustainability of care models.

The Center draws on extensive multidisciplinary expertise, both experimental and clinical, as well as the Biobanca delle Marche, equipped with a laboratory specifically created for advanced analysis of liquid and solid biopsies.

A distinctive feature is its integration with the Regional Coordination Center for Rare Diseases, under the Marche Regional Health Agency, and the recent establishment of a regional rare disease network (Regional Council Decree of 25 February).

The Center operates as a concrete access point to the HEAL Italia system, serving as a coordination hub capable of activating the entire national network for each clinical case, ensuring equitable access to Precision Medicine regardless of geographical location.

Precision Diagnostics for Rare Diseases

Advanced diagnostic pathways for the early and accurate identification of rare diseases, with access to the latest generation of genomic and biomolecular technologies.

Personalised Therapeutic Pathways

Stratification of patients into homogeneous subgroups to develop individualised prevention, diagnosis and therapy models, moving beyond the "one-size-fits-all" approach.

Marche BioBank

Specialist laboratory for advanced analysis of liquid and solid biopsies, in support of translational research and the molecular characterisation of rare diseases.

Integrated Regional and National Network

Coordination with the Regional Rare Disease Center and connection with all HEAL Italia Centers to ensure equitable access and sharing of specialist expertise.
