The Precision Medicine Centers are integrated infrastructures that operate as strategic hubs of the HEAL Italia system, serving as a point of connection between research, clinical practice and innovation.

These are not simply outpatient clinics or laboratories, but true territorial hubs where patients, healthcare professionals and researchers can concretely access advanced diagnostic pathways, the latest generation of omic technologies and personalised therapeutic protocols.

Every Center is designed to operate in synergy with hospitals, universities, IRCCS and local research centers, creating a distributed yet interconnected system that ensures equitable access and continuity of care.

The Centers model overcomes the traditional geographical and organisational barriers of the healthcare system. Through a shared national technological platform, the Centers can share data, expertise and resources in real time, allowing even the most peripheral areas to benefit from the same technologies and knowledge available in the major centers of excellence.

Thanks to certified biobanks, specialist laboratories and integration with the Electronic Health Record, every Center can build care pathways based on scientific evidence and personalised to the individual characteristics of the patient, accelerating the transition from scientific discovery to clinical application.

Next-generation genetic sequencing, single-cell multi-omic analyses and spatial transcriptomics for an extremely detailed molecular characterisation of pathologies and their microenvironment.

Certified and Integrated Biobanks

Specialist facilities for the secure collection, preservation and management of biological samples and clinical data, connected to the HEAL Italia national biobank system and the European BBMRI infrastructure.

Interoperable Data Platform

A secure digital system that integrates clinical, genomic and environmental data, enabling advanced analyses, the development of predictive models and the controlled sharing of information between the nodes of the network.

From the initial assessment to ongoing monitoring, every step is designed to ensure you have access to the most advanced technologies and the specialist expertise of the national network, never losing sight of the centrality of you as a person and your clinical history.

Access to the Center

The first contact can take place through the patient's GP, their referring specialist or directly at the Centers. A dedicated team welcomes the patient and assesses the most appropriate pathway.

Multidisciplinary Assessment

Doctors, geneticists and specialists jointly analyse the clinical case, family history and available data to determine whether and which genetic/omic analyses are required.

Precision Analysis and Diagnosis

Biological samples are analysed using advanced technologies in the Center's laboratories. Genomic data are interpreted using artificial intelligence algorithms and international databases.

Building the Personalised Pathway

Based on the results, the team defines a tailored therapeutic plan, identifies any available clinical trials or innovative protocols, and activates the national network if necessary.

Monitoring and Adaptation

The pathway is monitored over time through clinical follow-ups and, when indicated, further analyses to dynamically adapt the therapy to the evolution of the disease.
